What are the required qualities?
The particularity of the job of managing a food truck is autonomy and independence. To practice this profession, the only culinary skills transmitted by the Chef are a minimum. It is both a management profession and a cooking profession. To become a “food-trucker” one of the main qualities required is organization. Before getting started, a professional must plan his or her future activity and must then stick to the organization that has been established.
A taste for human relations is another essential quality of this profession. The job of a food truck manager is to cook in front of customers and sell them our products, the manager is then in constant contact with customers. To manage a food truck, it is therefore essential to have a commercial flair and to enjoy interacting with other people.
Finally, to become a food truck manager you have to be fast and efficient. Like any profession in the catering sector, the workload can be very uneven depending on the crowd.
